Lysopak

It seems as if every day one hears of incidents related to food contamination. To this end, food packaging engineers and scientists are investigating new ways to provide greater shelf life and extend the quality and nutritional value of food items.
Fordras’ Lysozyme is an antimicrobial enzyme found in many natural systems. It has proven remarkably effective against gram-positive food pathogens, such as Lysteria monocytogenes. To enhance the effectiveness of Lysozyme as a food preservative against gram-negative bacteria such as E.coli, experiments have been combining Fordras’ LYSOFOOD with other synergic substances also known for their natural antimicrobial functions.
The result is LYSOPAK, a formulation containing Lysozyme, which can be used as a coating solution, an edible film, or a laminated film that protect foods against harmful bacteria while helping to protect the environment.
