Vice President Operations – Natural Proteins Division

Based in Lugano, Daniele is responsible for the overall operations of the NPD facilities in Abbotsford (Canada), Ferndale (WA, USA), Zeewolde (Holland), Nunspeet (Holland), Zeven (Germany) and Odense (Denmark).

Dr Bizzarri earned a degree in Biology (Summa Cum Laude) from the University of Pavia (1976) and a degree in Pharmacy at the University of Milano (1982). Responsible for R&D, QA and QC departments of internationally recognized API manufacturers, he acquired a vast experience in regulatory affairs, including FDA certification. He is a member of FIP (International Pharmaceutical Federation), the pharmaceutical enzymes international committee for standard preparation.

He joined Fordras in 1998 as Director of technical operations, being instrumental in the development of Lysozyme production and its GMP certification from The Swiss Agency for Therapeutic Products and The Dutch Board of Health.

Maarten De Groot joined Fordras as sales and marketing director on September 2005, to support Fordras’ commercial management. Having worked for several multinational companies across Europe, Maarten has brought many years of experience in administration, international sales and business development.

Maarten holds a Bachelors degree in Business & International Agriculture, and a Master’s in Business & Organizations from the University of Amsterdam, Netherlands. Having worked and lived in several European countries, Maarten is well versed in most western European languages.

Lead Scientist & Lab Manager

Based in Lugano, Francesca is responsible for all activities for the Fordras Laboratory in Taverne, Switzerland, which includes QA/QC and microbiology. Francesca is also responsible for Ovoproducts for pharmaceutical and diagnostics applications, with particular emphasis and experience in Avidin.

Francesca holds a degree (cum laude) in Biology from the University of Milan, and has many years of experience in Microbiology Assays (enzymes, vitamins and antibiotics), Biotechnology (in vitro and in vivo cell cultures, set up of immunoenzymatic assays), and Diagnostics (strept/Avidin Biotin detection systems, from research to production, marketing and sales).
